Sugarflower Floristry was founded by Carolyn Trudeau in 2020 with nothing more than an eye for beauty, and a heart for doing the right thing. After a consult with a florists during her own wedding planning, she noticed a centerpiece design had been drastically changed without her consent. The original design honored her farm-girl roots and blended it with more refined floral breeds, but what was submitted for her review was far from what she asked for. The florist’s response when asked about the change was “Your original request does not properly reflect our brand…”

While she happily took her vision elsewhere, she never forgot that interaction- which unknowingly shaped the company as we know it today. She promised that if she ever had the chance to do florals for others, no one would ever be made to feel inferior or unworthy due to shallow brand agendas. A person’s exact floral wishes would be at the center of every request, because every vision is worthy- no matter the size or scale.

With the heart behind the business being set in stone, just one thing remained: the name. This part came together easily, as it is a nickname given to Carolyn by her favorite person in the whole world- her Grandfather. When the day came to form and name the company, both were done in his honor. His kindness, strength, and love for others are part of everything our founder does, all of which we hope you see when you join Sugarflower Floristry as our client.
